NetID+ (Plus): Log In Using Smartphone (or Tablet)

Instructional Video

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • NOTE: Prior to using a smartphone or tablet for NetID+ you must register the device to be used and install the app on your phone. For assistance with those steps, please refer to the steps on the Enroll Smartphone page.

  • NOTE: The steps below begin after you're presented with a WebAuth screen, log in with your NetID and password, and are then directed to the NetID+ authentication page.

Important: The Duo Mobile App can be used two different ways. Instructions for both methods, Duo Push and Generate a Passcode, are outlined below.

Duo Push Method

  1. If you want your login for that application or on that browser remembered for the next month, check the box to Remember me for 30 days.

    • You should not check the box if you're using a shared computer as this could potentially allow someone else to log into an application as you.

  2. Click the Send Me a Push button.

  3. Your smartphone should receive a notification. Open the notification.

  4. You see an option to Approve or Deny. If you did initiate the notification being sent, select Approve.

  5. The approval feeds to the NetID+ window and you should now be directed to the application/software you need to access.

Enter a Passcode Method

  1. If you want your login for that application or on that browser remembered for the next month, check the box to Remember me for 30 days.

    • You should not check the box if you're using a shared computer as this could potentially allow someone else to log into an application as you.

  2. Click the Enter a Passcode button.

  3. Launch the Duo Mobile app from your phone.

  4. Click in the area that reads Duo-Protected The University of Arizona and then you'll see a several digit code.

  5. Enter the code in the appropriate field on the NetID+ Authentication page. Then click Log In.

  6. Each code can only be used once. If it's already been used, the NetID+ page displays a red banner at the bottom that prompts you to generate a different code.

  7. From the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone, use the Refresh icon to generate a new code.

  8. Back on the NetID+ Authentication page enter the new code in the field and click Log In.

  9. You should now be logged into the software/application you need to access.
